Trauma is essentially unresolved memories that exist in our minds and bodies in a form that retains the visual, emotional, physiological, and sensory experiences that were felt at the time of the event.
To overcome and heal trauma, we must work through these memories until they no longer cause symptoms. Feelings about the experience can be effectively expressed through art when words fail, revealing coping strategies and internal strengths in the healing journey.
